15 active COVID-19 cases in Cachar district at present
April 5: On Monday, 02 new cases of COVID-19 was reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1180 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, none were found positive. Similarly, none were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Monday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,522. Further, a total of 11,469 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 38 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 15 active cases in Cachar district, out of which, 03 of them are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), whereas, 12 others are in home isolation. It needs mention here that one person from Cachar was found to be corona positive in New Delhi during the day.
Further, the district health authorities appealed to the public to maintain COVID appropriate behaviour like use of face masks in public places, maintain social distancing, hand hygiene and coughing etiquette like covering of mouth and nose while coughing. Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed stated that by following these steps we can help prevent the break out of the second wave of COVID-19.
