11 injured after firing along Assam-Arunachal border; CM Sarma orders probe

way2barak, Aug 11: At least 11 people from the Assam side were injured on Monday following a firing incident by miscreants along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in Assam’s Dhemaji district.

The violence erupted at Mingmang Basti amid tensions over alleged land encroachment by individuals from Arunachal Pradesh on land belonging to Assam.

Sudhakar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dhemaji district, confirmed that 11 locals were injured after miscreants opened fire in the border area.

“Three among the injured persons were referred to Assam Medical College & Hospital in Dibrugarh, while others are admitted to Dhemaji hospital. The situation is now under control,” SSP Sudhakar Singh said.
