Gunotsav to be held in 3 phases in the state: CM Assam

Jan. 12: Assam conducted Gunotsav when Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was the Education Minister during the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP government in the state. However, with the change of guards, it was later discontinued. Now again, the state government is preparing to conduct Gunotsav. Last year, Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu indicated Gunotsav will again be conducted in the state in 2022.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma held a discussion with Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu in presence of officials of the Education Department to review implementation framework of Gunotsav. Later on, the Chief Minister stated, “It has been decided to organize Gunotsav in 3 phases to ensure quality education with improved learning outcomes.” However, further details into the conduct of Gunotsav were not yet revealed.
