Lockdown! No announcement made by Cachar administration

July 5: When on one hand, the number of coronavirus cases are rising at an alarming rate, people of Assam are gripped by panic. Moreover, some fake social media posts have further aggravated the apprehension of the people of Cachar district regarding another round of lockdown. The rumours and fake social media posts have gone to the extent of either misquoting State Health Minister or the district administration and proclaiming that lockdown will soon be imposed in Cachar.

However, the Cachar District Administration have rubbished all such claims as baseless. In a social media post on Sunday night, District Administration Cachar wrote, “No announcement has been made from Cachar administration regarding the lockdown.
