Statue of Zubeen Garg to be installed at Assam University
জুবিন গৰ্গের মূৰ্তি বসছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে, নামকরণ হচ্ছে নতুন

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৭ অক্টোবর : ‘প্ৰাণের শিল্পী’ তথা ‘মানবতার পূজারী’ জুবিন গৰ্গের মূৰ্তি বসছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে৷ সেইসঙ্গে নামকরণ হচ্ছে ৫০০ আসনের নির্মীয়মান প্ৰেক্ষাগৃহেরও৷ সম্প্ৰতি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এগজিকিউটিভ কাউন্সিলের ১৭৬তম বৈঠকে এই সিদ্ধান্ত গ্ৰহণ করা হয়েছে৷

উপাচাৰ্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থের পৌরোহিত্যে আয়োজিত বৈঠকে অসামান্য প্রতিভাময় এই শিল্পীর প্রতি রাজ্যবাসীর আবেগ ও অনুভূতিকে সম্মান জানিয়ে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়, রাজ্য সরকারের অৰ্থানুকূল্যে নিৰ্মীয়মান ৫০০ আসনের প্ৰেক্ষাগৃহটি জুবিন গৰ্গের নামে উৎসৰ্গ করা হবে৷ সেইসঙ্গে এই প্ৰেক্ষাগৃহের সামনে বসানো হবে এই কিংবদন্তি কণ্ঠশিল্পীর মূৰ্তি৷ এদিকে নির্মীয়মান প্রেক্ষাগৃহের বাকি কাজ যাতে দ্রুত সম্পন্ন হয়, সেব্যাপারে অতিরিক্ত অর্থ বরাদ্দের অনুরোধ জানিয়ে ইতিমধ্যেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কাছে চিঠি পাঠিয়েছেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক পন্থ।

প্রসঙ্গত, শ্ৰীভূমি শহরের আলো-হাওয়ায় শৈশব কাটানো জুবিন সবসময়ই নিজেকে ‘অৰ্ধেক বাঙালি’ বলতেন৷ লিখেছেন প্ৰচুর বাংলাগানও৷ গেয়েছেন অসমিয়া, বাংলা, হিন্দি, মণিপুরি, কার্বি, ডিমাসা, ভোজপুরি সহ প্রায় চল্লিশটি ভাষার গান। তাঁর গান শুধু নবপ্রজন্মের কণ্ঠে নয়, সব প্রজন্মেরই লক্ষ লক্ষ হৃদয় স্পর্শ করেছে।

শুধু শিলচর নয়, ডিফু ক্যাম্পাসেও ‘অসমের হাৰ্টথ্ৰব’ জুবিন গর্গের স্মৃতিতে নবনির্মিত কনফারেন্স হলের নামকরণের সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। এই উদ্যোগ প্রয়াত শিল্পীর উত্তরাধিকার এবং সঙ্গীত ও সংস্কৃতিতে তাঁর অসামান্য অবদানের প্রতি বিশেষ শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি বলে জানিয়েছেন নিবন্ধক ড. প্রদোষ কিরণ নাথ।

Way2barak, 17 October : A statue of the legendary singer & worshipper of humanity Zubeen Garg is being installed at Assam University. In this regard, the 176th meeting of the Executive Council of the University resolved to name the 500 seater Auditorium under construction in Assam University on state government fund in memory of legendary singer Zubeen Garg.

The Executive Council further resolved to erect a statue of the singer icon in front of the said auditorium on its completion. Accordingly, the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Assam with a request to provide additional grant so that the pending work of the auditorium can be completed at the earliest in dedication to legendary singer Zubeen Garg.

Further, in Assam University Diphu Campus, it was decided to dedicate the newly built conference hall in memory of the heartthrob of Assam Zubeen Garg. This initiative is a special tribute to the legacy of the late artist and his outstanding contribution to music and culture, said Registrar Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath.
