আউটা নির্বাচনে ড. অমিত দাস প্যানেলের ঝড়, সব পদে জয়

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৪ মে : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষক সংস্থা (আউটা)-র ২০২৬ সালের নির্বাচনকে ঘিরে বুধবার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় চত্বরে ছিল ব্যাপক উৎসাহ ও উত্তেজনা। বিপিন চন্দ্র পাল মিলনায়তনে অনুষ্ঠিত আউটার বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা (এজিবিএম)-এর মধ্যেই সম্পন্ন হয় এই নির্বাচন। শেষ পর্যন্ত ড. অমিত কুমার দাসের নেতৃত্বাধীন প্যানেল সবকটি পদে জয়লাভ করে কার্যত ‘ক্লিন সুইপ’ করেছে। নির্বাচনে শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের ব্যাপক অংশগ্রহণ লক্ষ্য করা যায়। একাধিক পদে হাড্ডাহাড্ডি লড়াই হলেও শেষ পর্যন্ত ড. অমিত দাস প্যানেলের প্রার্থীরাই জয়ী হন। নবনির্বাচিত সদস্যরা হলেন— সভাপতি ড. অমিত কুমার দাস, সহ-সভাপতি অধ্যাপক নবেন্দু সেন, সাধারণ সম্পাদক ড. বিশ্ব রঞ্জন রায়, যুগ্ম সম্পাদক ড. গোবিন্দ শর্মা ও ড. প্রণব সরকার এবং কোষাধ্যক্ষ ড. দৃষ্টিরূপা পাটগিরি।

সভাপতি পদে ছিল সবচেয়ে আকর্ষণীয় লড়াই। ড. অমিত কুমার দাস ১৩৩ ভোট পেয়ে অধ্যাপক দেবাশিস সেনগুপ্তকে পরাজিত করেন। অধ্যাপক সেনগুপ্ত পান ১২৬ ভোট। অন্যদিকে সহ-সভাপতি পদে অধ্যাপক নবেন্দু সেন সর্বোচ্চ ১৪৯ ভোট পেয়ে নির্বাচনের সর্বাধিক ভোটপ্রাপ্ত প্রার্থী হন। সাধারণ সম্পাদক পদেও ছিল তীব্র প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা। ড. বিশ্ব রঞ্জন রায় ১৩৩ ভোট পেয়ে ড. মোনালি লংমালাইকে পরাজিত করেন। ড. লংমালাই পান ১২৫ ভোট।

ফলাফল ঘোষণার পর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় চত্বরে উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশের সৃষ্টি হয়। বিজয়ী প্রার্থীরা শিক্ষকদের ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে বলেন, শিক্ষকদের স্বার্থরক্ষা ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সামগ্রিক উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে তাঁরা একযোগে কাজ করবেন। উল্লেখ্য, অধ্যাপক টিনেশ্বরী দেবী, অধ্যাপক সৌগত নাথ এবং অধ্যাপক হিমাদ্রি শেখর দাস নির্বাচন কমিশনের সদস্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। তাঁদের তত্ত্বাবধানে শান্তিপূর্ণ, অবাধ ও স্বচ্ছভাবে নির্বাচন সম্পন্ন হয়। এদিকে আউটার নবনির্বাচিত প্রতিনিধিদের উষ্ণ অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ ও নিবন্ধক প্রদোষ কিরণ নাথ। তাঁরা উভয়েই আশাপ্রকাশ করে বলেছেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সার্বিক উন্নয়নে গঠনমূলক ভূমিকা পালন করবে নতুন কমিটি।

Way2barak, May 14 : The 2026 election of the Assam University Teachers’ Association (AUTA) witnessed widespread enthusiasm and excitement across the university campus on Wednesday. The election was held during the Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) at the Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium. In the end, the panel led by Dr. Amit Kumar Das achieved a virtual “clean sweep” by winning all the key posts.

A large number of teachers participated in the election. Although several contests were closely fought, candidates from the Dr. Amit Das panel ultimately emerged victorious in every position. The newly elected office-bearers are: President Dr. Amit Kumar Das, Vice-President Prof. Nabendu Sen, General Secretary Dr. Bishwa Ranjan Roy, Joint Secretaries Dr. Gobind Sharma and Dr. Pranab Sarkar, and Treasurer Dr. Drishtirupa Patgiri.
The contest for the post of President drew the most attention. Dr. Amit Kumar Das secured 133 votes to defeat Prof. Devasish Sengupta, who received 126 votes. Meanwhile, in the Vice-President election, Prof. Nabendu Sen secured the highest number of votes in the entire election with 149 votes. The General Secretary post also witnessed intense competition, with Dr. Bishwa Ranjan Roy defeating Dr. Monali Longmailai by securing 133 votes against her 125 votes.

Following the announcement of the results, a celebratory atmosphere prevailed across the university campus. The victorious candidates thanked the teachers and said they would work collectively to safeguard the interests of teachers and contribute to the overall development of the university.

It may be mentioned that Prof. Tineswari Devi, Prof. Sougata Nath, and Prof. Himadri Shekhar Das served as members of the Election Commission. Under their supervision, the election was conducted peacefully, fairly, and transparently.

Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant and Registrar Pradosh Kiran Nath extended their warm congratulations to the newly elected AUTA representatives. Both expressed hope that the new committee would play a constructive role in the overall development of the university.
