Educational institutions inundated & vulnerable closed in Karimganj till 20 June

June 18: In view of incessant rain & due to crossing of danger level of river water of Kushiyara, Longai & Singla river etc. has crossed the danger level. Further, the Regional Meteorological Department (IMD), Guwahati, has issued forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Karimganj district for few days.

It is in this backdrop that the Karimganj District administration has advised to closed down such educational institution (both Govt. & Private) under Karimganj District which has/are inundated and vulnerable to landslide. erosion etc with prior information to the Inspector of Schools/ DEEO, Karimganj, with the exception of conduct of pre-scheduled examination, if situation permits.

This order was issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner & CEO DDMA Karimganj on 18 June. It was further stated that this order will remain in force till 20 June, 2022.
