Narendra Modi to take oath as Prime Minister on 30 May

May 26:After a spectacular finish by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lok Sabha Election, the stage is all set for Modi to become the Prime Minister of India for the second consecutive term.

An NDA delegation, led by Amit Shah, President, BJP, and comprising Prakash Singh Badal, Rajnath Singh, Nitish Kumar, Ram Vilas Paswan, Sushma Swaraj, Uddhav Thakeray, Nitin Gadkari, K. Palaniswami, Conrad Sangma and Neiphiu Rio called on the President. A letter stating that Narendra Modi had been elected leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party was handed over to the President. Letters of support from NDA constituent parties were also handed over to the President

Exercising powers vested in him under Article 75 (1) of the Constitution of India, President Ramnath Kovind on Saturday appointed Narendra Modi to the office of Prime Minister of India. The President requested Narendra Modi to advise him about the names of others to be appointed members of the Union Council of Ministers; and indicate the date and time of the swearing-in-ceremony to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The President will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Prime Minister and other members of the Union Council of Ministers at 7 pm on May 30, 2019, at Rashrapati Bhavan.
