21 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Saturday, 18 discharged
Active cases 241 in Cachar
Aug 7: A total of 21 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Saturday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,041 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 20 were found positive, whereas only 01 person was detected positive in RT-PCR test. Also during the day, 18 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged. At present, there are 241 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 41 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Friday.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 6 August to 5 PM on 7 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 7 August, there were 60 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 39 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 21 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 05 patients were put under ventilator support and 46 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 10 of them were discharged.
