Cancer afflicted Covid patient from Ambicaptty, Silchar dies on Friday
May 21: The most striking difference between the 1st and 2nd wave of Covid-19 is the increase in the number of deaths. Along with the rest of the country, Assam too is witnessing a huge number of deaths of Covid patients on a daily basis. On Friday, a total of 81 deaths were registered in the state. In Cachar district too, death of Covid patients are occurring almost everyday.
Mira Paul (77) from Ambicapatty, Silchar was a cancer patient and was undergoing treatment at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (CCHRC), Meherpur, Silchar. On being tested, the lady too was detected as Covid-19 positive. It needs mention here that as per the data provided by district health department, there were 14 active cases of Covid-19 at the Cachar Cancer Hospital on Friday.
Finally, at 3.30 AM on 21 May, Mira Paul breathed her last. She was the wife of Late Jagadish Chandra Paul, who was a teacher of Mathematics of Adharchand HS School, Silchar. The deceased Mira Paul is the sister of Late Mrinal Kanti Dutta Biswas (Polu Biswas), a dramatist and former Principal of Adharchand HS School.
