Community Hall inaugurated at Silcoorie by MLA Sonai

September 9: A community Hall (Natch Ghar) made at an expense of Rs.10 lakh under the United Fund scheme 2016-17 was formally inaugurated on Sunday by MLA Sonai Animul Haque Laskar in the presence of veteran BJP leader and former Union Minister Kabindra Pukayastha and S.Laksmanan, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar.

Apart from this, an ambulance was also donated out of the MLA fund of Aminul Haque Laskar. Local people came in huge numbers to attend the programme. Speaking during the occasion, former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha said that now the people of Silcoorie will be able to hold meetings and organise programmes in this community hall.

Also present during the ceremony were BJP leaders Rajdip Roy, Kanad Purkayastha, officers from the nearby tea gardens and others.
