Cachar Police seizes 23 packets of Yaba tablets, apprehends 1 peddler

January 09: The crusade on drugs launched by Cachar Police is going on unabated. On last Tuesday, at around 7.30 PM, OC Jirighat SI Soumarjyoti Ray, acting on a tip off, jumped into action. Police was informed about the movement of one drugs peddler in the area.

Accordingly, police set up a team at Assam- Manipur Interstate border checkpoint and apprehended one person,  Anarul Hoque Barbhuiyan (22), a resident of Makhan Nagar, Uparbasti, PS- Jirighat along with 23 packets Yaba Tablets (WY brand) containing 200 tablets each packet. A case is being registered in this regard vide Jirighat PS case no 2/2020 u/s 22(c) NDPS Act. Interrogation is still going on for more information.
