Kiosk for selling face mask by SHG started in Borkhola

April 28: A kiosk for selling face masks made by two Self Help Groups (SHGs) have been set up in Borkhola Development Block in Cachar district under the aegis of Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM). The kiosk has been set up to make available masks for the common people at a cheap rate, which in turn would also generate income for the SHG members.

The face mask kiosk was inaugurated on Tuesday by MLA Borkhola Kishore Nath, Police Super Manabendra Debray and CEO of Cachar Zila Parishad. Speaking during the occasion, SP Cachar said that people will now have to develop habit of using face masks whenever they come out of their houses. He said, “This will protect us not only from COVID-19 but also from various other infections.

CEO of Cachar Zila Parishad lauded the efforts of the SHGs in making the masks. She further urged upon the people to maintain the principle of social distancing. In order to encourage the SHG members, MLA Borkhola purchased hundred masks and distributed them among the people. All appreciated the SHG members of Nivedita VO and Nobojagaran VO under ASRLM for undertaking this activity at this hour of health pandemic.
