195 Covid deaths in Assam in last 3 days including 56 on Sunday

May 16: With a tragic turn of events, more and more people are losing their lives in Assam due to Covid-19. In the last three days, 195 persons in the state have lost their lives due to the deadly coronavirus. On 14 May, 76 people succumbed to Covid-19, 15 May recorded 63 more deaths and on 16 May, 56 persons lost their lives in the virus attack.

Out of the 56 deceased on Sunday, 13 are from Kamrup Metro; 5 from Udalguri; 4 each from Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kamrup Rural & Sonitpur; 3 each from Cachar, Golaghat & Karbi Anglong; 2 each from Darrang Hojai & Tinsukia, 1 each from Baksha, Barpeta, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Lakhimpur, Nagaon & Nalbari. The death tally of the state now stands at 2,179.

Apart from the 2,179 Covid deaths, another 1,347 Covid positive patients also died in Assam, but due to comorbidities.
