Assam University Holds Gender Sensitisation Orientation for New Research Scholars
গবেষকদের শিক্ষারম্ভে জেন্ডার সংবেদনশীলতা নিয়ে কর্মসূচি আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৭ ডিসেম্বর : নবাগত গবেষকদের শিক্ষারম্ভে জেন্ডার সংবেদনশীলতার ওপর একদিনের ওরিয়েন্টেশন কর্মসূচি আয়োজিত হল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে। জাতীয় যৌন হেনস্থা প্রতিরোধ সপ্তাহ পালনের অঙ্গ হিসেবে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অভ্যন্তরীণ অভিযোগ কমিটির (আইসিসি) উদ্যোগে গতকাল এই কর্মসূচি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

বিপিনচন্দ্র পাল মিলনায়তনে আয়োজিত এই কর্মসূচির আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধন করেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ। উদ্বোধনী পর্বে স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন আইসিসির প্রিসাইডিং অফিসার অধ্যাপিকা করবী দত্তচৌধুরী। তিনি ক্যাম্পাসে সম্মানজনক আচরণ নিশ্চিত করতে জেন্ডার সংবেদনশীলতা, প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ব্যবস্থার বিষয়ে সচেতনতা ও সংশ্লিষ্ট সবার যৌথ দায়িত্বের ওপর আলোকপাত করেন।

উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক পন্থ সমতা, মর্যাদা ও নৈতিক আচরণের প্রতি আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের দৃঢ় অবস্থানের কথা তুলে ধরেন। তিনি ‘বিকশিত ভারত ২০৪৭’-এর লক্ষ্য ও জাতীয় অগ্রাধিকারের সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে জেন্ডার সংবেদনশীলতা উদ্যোগের গুরুত্ব নিয়েও আলোচনা করেন। স্টুডেন্টস ওয়েলফেয়ারের ডিন অধ্যাপক অনুপ কুমার দে দায়িত্বশীল ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক শিক্ষাবান্ধব পরিবেশ গঠনে সচেতনতা, শিক্ষা ও নৈতিক মূল্যবোধের ভূমিকার কথা উল্লেখ করেন।

উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের শেষে ধন্যবাদসূচক বক্তব্য পেশ করেন ড. দৃষ্টিরূপা পাটগিরি। এদিন জেন্ডার সংবেদনশীলতা যে সকলের সম্মিলিত দায়িত্ব—এই বার্তা ছড়িয়ে দিতে নাটিকাও মঞ্চস্থ করেন শিক্ষার্থীরা। এছাড়া আয়োজিত হয় পিওএসএইচ আইন ২০১৩, জেন্ডার সংবেদনশীলতা ও সি-বক্স বিষয়ক তিনটি বিদ্যায়তনিক অধিবেশন। এতে বক্তব্য রাখেন অধ্যাপিকা অত্রী দেশমুখ্য, অধ্যাপিকা করবী দত্তচৌধুরী ও উপ-নিবন্ধক (পরীক্ষা) বজেন সিং। শেষে আলোচনার সারসংক্ষেপ পেশ করেন ড. অদিতি নাথ।

Way2barak, December 17 : A one-day orientation programme on gender sensitisation for newly admitted research scholars was organised at Assam University. The programme was held yesterday under the initiative of the University’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) as part of the observance of National Sexual Harassment Prevention Week.

The programme, held at the Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium, was formally inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant. The welcome address was delivered by ICC Presiding Officer Prof. Karabi Dutta Choudhury, who highlighted the importance of gender sensitisation, awareness of institutional mechanisms, and the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in ensuring respectful conduct on campus.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pant emphasised Assam University’s firm commitment to equality, dignity, and ethical conduct. He also discussed the significance of gender sensitisation initiatives in alignment with national priorities and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Dean of Students’ Welfare Prof. Anup Kumar Dey spoke on the role of awareness, education, and ethical values in building a responsible and inclusive learner-friendly academic environment.

At the end of the inaugural session, the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Drishtirupa Patgiri. Students also staged a short play to spread the message that gender sensitisation is a shared responsibility. The programme further included three technical sessions on the POSH Act, 2013, gender sensitisation, and the She-Box, with addresses by Prof. Atri Deshmukh, Prof. Karabi Dutta Choudhury, and Deputy Registrar (Exam) Bojen Singh. The sessions concluded with a summary of discussions presented by Dr. Aditi Nath.
