Vaccination process in the state will be completed by this year end, assures CM Assam
June 3: “Whatever vaccines will be available in the country, central government will give it to Assam. My trust and confidence is with the central government. Whatever they will do, I will go accordingly. Last month we acquired 5 lakh vaccines and this month we’ll buy 7 lakh vaccines to meet the demands of our state and the Northeastern region. We’re grateful to the Centre for providing us with 12 lakh more doses.” This was stated by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference at New Delhi on Thursday.
The Chief Minister further stated, “Those people who do not have mobile phones or smartphones can go directly to the vaccination center to get their jabs. We will provide vaccine in the doorstep after August. Assam will receive maximum doses of vaccines and will complete the vaccination process by this year end.” For those who have taken the 1st dose of Covaxin, they too need not worry said the Chief Minister. He said, “The 2nd dose of Covaxin can be taken within 28 to 42 days from the date of the 1st jab. So before the expiry of 42 days, they will surely be provided the 2nd dose.”
