Don’t charge any amount in online application for admission to colleges, orders DHE, Assam

Aug. 8: After the declaration of results of HSLC and HS Final year, colleges in Assam have initiated the process of online admission in HS First Year and TDC 1st semester. Some colleges, in the meantime had asked the students to pay online fees for applying through the portal of the respective colleges.

It is in this context that, Director of Higher Education (DHE), Assam has come up with a notification on 2 August, wherein, the colleges were instructed not to charge any amount in online application for admission to colleges.

Addressing the Principals of all Provincialised / PDUAM/ Government Model Colleges of the state, DHE, Assam stated, “I am to inform you that some colleges have charged an amount in connection with online admission to students in Provincialized, Govt. Model Colleges etc. In this regard you are here by requested not to charge any amount in regards to the ongoing admission to the colleges in Higher Secondary and Degree Classes.”
