Commencement of offline classes & reopening of hostels deferred until further notice: Assam Univ

All boarders except Research Scholars to vacate hostels by 23 April

April 16: Issues regarding commencement of offline classes and reopening of Hostels were re-examined by a duly constituted Committee of Assam University in view of sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in various parts of the Country as Assam University has a considerable number of out-station students. On the basis of the report of the Committee, the competent authority has approved certain guidelines for information and necessary action by all concerned. This was issued by the Registrar of Assam University on 16 April, 2021 subject to ratification by the Academic Council.

  • Commencement of offline classes as notified vide AUK-213/12/2011 dated 22nd March 2021 is deferred until further order.
  • Re-opening of hostels as notified vide F.NO.AUR/21-1/2020/65 dated 31.03.2021 is deferred until further order.
  • All boarders presently staying in hostels except Research Scholars are required to vacate the hostel by 23 April, 2021.
  • Research Scholar coming from outside of Assam should submit negative result of RT-PCR test for COVID-19 to University Medical Officer and concerned Head of the Department.
  • All Research scholars and other stake holders attending the Academic and Administrative Department(s) are advised to follow the guidelines/ advisories issued by Government of India/MoE/UGC, as well as the circulars issued by the University from time to time.
