Art Comeptition ‘Kalakrit’ organised by Leo Club of Silchar Central to encourage budding artists

August 20: Leo Club of Silchar Central celebrated its most awaited project of the year Kalakrit, an art competition to encourage budding artists of the town, giving them a platform to showcase their talent & creativity. The programme commenced at 12:30 PM and concluded at 2:30 PM. The theme was India’s Independence Day.

A total of 363 participants enlisted themselves in this competition. Dr.Rajan Kumar Vaidhya & Dr Rajkumar Mazumder from Department of Visual Arts, Assam University, Silchar were the esteemed judges of the competition. The participants created magical expression with their aesthetic exploration.

Finally, prizes were announced for each category. Position holders were handed over certificates & trophies by the Chief Guest Lion Dr. M Masoom, President Lions Club of Silchar Central & Guest of Honour Swarnali Choudhury, a renowned social activist & other dignitaries.

Later on, speaking to way2barak, Leo Rajdulali Mazumder said, “We believe that Art encompasses values, ideas and enlighten one with what the imagination is capable of without the power of creation. We are greatful to our esteemed guests for their valuable support. We hope to carry our Kalakrit as our permanent annual project from this year onward. I thank all the members for their active and whole-hearted cooperation throughout the entire event.
