7 teachers felicitated on 5 September in Silchar

Sept. 6: Amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Teachers’ Day was celebrated all throughout the country. Many in the teaching profession were felicitated. Following the COVID-19 protocol, on the occasion of 59th Teachers’ Day, Cachar BJP Vice- President and the General Secretary of Red Cross Society District branch Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty felicitated 7 most prominent teachers of Silchar for their dedicated services in the field of educational. Pranabananda Vidya Mandir was also honoured for being selected as the best performing school in Cachar in 2020 by the Govt of Assam. The programme was organized at Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Silchar.

Swapan Suklabaidya, Associate Professor, Cachar College, while inaugurating the event by lighting the lamp, said that there is no end to education and students must gather knowledge to enrich their lives and in nation building process. Suklabaidya also urged the teachers and students to help create a congenial atmosphere for the development of the valley in particular and the country as a whole on various fronts.

During the felicitation ceremony, Bharat Sevashram Sangha Chief Swami Mrinmayanandaji Maharaj said, “The future of the students depended upon the teachers and the growth and development of the country depended on good citizens who were created by teachers.” He said teachers have a responsibility to make the future of a student who would run the nation in future.

In his short speech, Dipayan Chakraborty said, “Teachers illumine the minds from darkness. They work relentlessly to spread the light of education.” Renowned advocate Nihar Ranjan Das and Barak Valley BJP Organising Secretary Nitya Bhusan Dey also shared words of wisdom in their speeches.
