2-day Conference of Ministers of Power and NRE of States and UTs to begin in Udaipur on 13 Oct

Report on performance of Power Utilities for FY 2020-21 to be released

way2barak, Oct.13: The two day  conference of Ministers of Power and New and Renewable Energy of States and UTs will begin at Udaipur, Rajasthan tomorrow  i.e 14th October 2022 and will continue till 15th October 2022. R.K Singh, Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy will inaugurate the conference on 14th October 2022. Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Krishan Pal Gurjar, Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Chemical and Fertilizers will attend the Conference apart from Ministers and Secretaries of Power and NRE from States and UTs. Senior officials from the Ministries of Power and New & Renewable Energy and the heads of Power Sector CPSEs will also be present.

The Agenda for discussion during the conference is as below:

  • Viability of DISCOMs
  • Smart Metering
  • Renewable Energy and Storage
  • Power Sector Reforms
  • Ensuring 24 x 7 power supply through timely investment
  • Rights of Electricity Consumers
  • Future power system in the year 2030
  • Energy Conservation

Report on Performance of Power Utilities for the Financial Year 2020-21 will be released during the conference. The report is published by Power Finance Corporation under Ministry of Power.

Ministry of Power and Ministry of New & Renewable Energy have been organizing the Conference of the Ministers of Power and New & Renewable Energy of States and UTs every year.  The Conferences have served as a valuable platform for discussion on current as well as emerging issues in power sector and also to set the agenda for further development of the sector.
