Process on for distribution of rice, dal to AAY, PHH beneficiaries, tea garden workers in Hailakandi

April 25: The district administration has started the process for distribution of masur dal to the Antodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) free of cost. Altogether 1,288.30 quintals of masur dal allotted from April to June will be lifted from the NAFED camp at Silchar and distribution will be done among the beneficiaries within May 15. A total of 1,28,830 family identity card holders belonging to AAY and PHH would be distributed masur dal under PMGKAY.

Under PMGKAY, five kg rice per person per month would be distributed to AAY and PHH beneficiaries covered under targetted public distribution system free of cost. Altogether 28850.05 quintals have been allotted for the month of May. 40 quintals of rice under open market sale scheme (domestic) have been allotted to Kunchunpore tea garden.

1,416 kg of fish sold out from different distribution points for door-to-door delivery covering 1,705 families on Saturday. 103 retailers and seven wholesalers have been engaged for the purpose. 47 metric tonnes of fruits were delivered at doorstep of people with the help of 98 numbers of hawkers and 20 wholesalers. 850 metric tonnes of vegetables were delivered at home through a network of 484 vendors and 15 wholesalers till now.
