Himanta to visit Silchar on 29 March to take stock of COVID-19 preparedness

March 28: State government of Assam is leaving no stones unturned in respect of COVID-19 preparedness. Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is going around all the medical colleges of the state to assess the available facility and to ensure full preparation in case of any outbreak of coronavirus in the state. Dr. Biswa Sarma is slated to visit Silchar once again on 29 March, 2020 to take stock of the preparedness. It needs mention here that he visited Silchar just 2 days ago on 26 March.

As per sources, the health minister is slated to chair a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner’s and Police of all the three districts of Barak Valley at Silchar. It is also apprehended that the minister will be monitoring the preparedness for making a make shift COVID-19 hospital at Silchar. Further, he will also meet with the owners of private Nursing homes. He will also convening a press conference at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar.
