4 deaths registered in Barak Valley in last 24 hours

Sept. 16: Once again, COVID-19 deaths were registered in Barak Valley in the last 24 hours. Four more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in the valley, out of which, 01 is from Cachar and the rest 03 from Karimganj. The deceased were identified as:

  • Krishna Adhikari (72) from Bilpar, Silchar was admitted in SMCH at 9.55 PM on 14 September, 2020. He, however, died at 2.45 PM on 16 September. His death was certified as Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
  • Amresh Nath (60) from Karimganj district was admitted in SMCH at 2.24 PM on 12 September. He breathed his last at 3.30 PM on 15 September. His death was certified as Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
  • Arun Kumar Deb (75) from Karimganj district was admitted in SMCH at 7.04 PM on 12 September. He passed away at 1.30 PM on 15 September. His death was certified as Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.
  • Quamar Uddin Ahmed (62) from Karimganj died in his home district. His death was certified as Covid death by the State Death Audit Board.

There were reports of another death of a Covid patient in a private hospital in Silchar on Wednesday. However, no official confirmation was received about this death till the filing of this report.
