TDC 6th Sem: Maximum examinees violating guidelines of online exam: Assam University
Oct. 1: On demand from a section of the students, Assam University agreed to conduct the TDC Non-CBCS Even Semester Examinations, 2020 in both online and offline mode. The decision was taken in a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Academic Council of the varsity. The said examination began on 29 September and will continue till 19 October. The students who had opted for online exam had to give an undertaking wherein they agreed to abide by the rules and regulations essential to maintain the sanctity of the examination process.
However, in a notification issued by the Controller of Examinations (COE of Assam University on Thursday, resentment was expressed as many students appearing in online mode were found to violate the guidelines. The said notification stated, “Considering the video updates of the examinees of TDC 6th Semester (Non CBCS) along with the arrear students who are attending online examinations, it is observed that the maximum of the examinees are not properly following the guidelines for online examination as prescribed by the university authority. Examinees are further advised to follow the following guidelines and earlier guidelines strictly, failing which their examination will be cancelled.
- If differences of hand writing detected by the evaluator, matter may be referred to Examination Discipline Committee.
- Timely submission of the answer scripts in PDF format (20 minutes after the examination) is mandatory. Answer scripts received after the schedule time will not be accepted for evaluation.
- The Concern College/ University will not be responsible for any kind of interruption of Internet/ power supply.
- If the uploaded answer script is not readable, the paper will not be considered for evaluation. Use of black ink pen is mandatory.
Further, the COE mentioned that “If any examinee feels that they cannot fulfill the above mentioned conditions, they can opt for offline mode with a prior permission from the respective colleges for remaining papers.”
The Colleges were directed to provide link to the exam branch of the varsity so that officers from examination section can visit the online examination centre. They were also asked to inform the students appearing online to follow the guidelines strictly.
