BSF seizes Yaba tablets worth 41 lakh & also foreign currency, 1 apprehended

June 11: The BSF in its drive against Narcotics on 10 June, 2021, while acting on specific information, a Special Operation was planned by the BSF Intelligence Team of 7 Battalion BSF of Mizoram & Cachar Ftr along with troops of 7 Battalion BSF including 02 Mahila Constables and the rep of Local Police of PICP Jarapata.

During this Operation at about 23.45 hrs, the BSF Operation party in the presence of Police Party searched the house of Hakir Ali, S/O- Late Irman Ali, R/o – Vill – N/Lafasail (ahead of fence) and recovered 36 black packets and 06 blue packets containing 8287 suspected Yaba Tablets worth Rs.41,43,500 and 13,570 Bangladeshi currency inside the house and apprehended 01 Indian national, namely, Hakir Ali. Seized items along with 01 Indian national was handed over to Karimganj Police Station for further legal action after lodging FIR in this regard by BSF.

Earlier also, on 21 May, 2021, acting on specific information, BSF troops of 1st Bn BSF also seized 604 nos Yaba Tablet in the general area of Lamajour.
