Karimganj Police recovers stolen motorcycles while about to be smuggled across the border

June 17: Two-wheelers have been off and on stolen from the three districts of Barak Valley. In one such instance, police forces from Patharkandi in Karimganj district of Assam raided an area near the Bangladesh border on Thursday night and found stolen motorcycles, which were about to be smuggled across the border after being dismantled. The police team was successful in recovering them.

“No escaping the long arm of Karimganj Police,” wrote the district police in their social media handle. Infact, an organised network has been carrying on such crime since a long period of time. After stealing the motorcycles, the parts are usually dismantled and then smuggled across the border to Bangladesh.
