Indian Army join hands with Cachar district administration in rescue operations

May 17: As the flood situation in Cachar district turns out to be grim especially in certain low lying areas, the Cachar District Administration has roped in the Indian Army for carrying on rescue operation. Flood affected people in large numbers were rescued by the Indian Army jawans by using their boats and were brought to the relief camps set up by the administration.

On Tuesday, around 300-400 villagers have been rescued and evacuated in the relief and rescue efforts /operations carried out by Indian Army in conjunction with Cachar district administration. Accredited Engineer & GRS Katigorah Dev Block assisted SDRF in rescue operations today at Tarinipur GP & Dudhpur Ganirgram GP.

Also, on Tuesday, CRPF rescued the public affected by floods in Borkhola, Cachar. Flood relief operations of CRPF saved people from tragic situations. Timely response of the rescue teams proved to be boon for people stranded due to disruption of commutation lines.
