Young farmers from Lakhipur along with MLA Kaushik Rai gifts juicy pineapples to CM
Consignment of organic pineapple from Lakhipur sent to Karnataka
July 18: Hmarkhawlien in Lakhipur constituency of Cachar district in Barak Valley is best known for its juicy pineapples. On Monday, a group of young farmers from the area in Cachar district, in presence of Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai gifted pineapples to Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati.
Reacting to this, the Chief Minister said, “Happy to receive pineapples from a group of young farmers from the area in Cachar district, in presence of Hon’ble Lakhipur MLA. My best wishes to the farmers for a bright future ahead.”
It needs mention here that the first consignment of organic pineapples produced by Hmar Agro-Organic Producer Company Limited, Lakhipur, Cachar, a FPC promoted under MOVCD-NER, by Directorate of Horticulture and Food Processing, Assam has been lifted by IQF Food Pvt. Ltd, Kolar, Karnataka as per MoU signed with the purchaser and FPC on 17 July, 2022.
In the flag off ceremony, ADC Cachar, Yubaraj Borthakur along with DAO Cachar, Nodal officer MOVCD and other officials from the department of Agriculture were also present. The price offered is ₹19 per kg including transportation.
