NCC Cadets of Cachar College Extend Support to Flood-Affected School Children

way2barak, June 7: Demonstrating empathy and a strong sense of duty, NCC cadets from Cachar College extended their support to school children impacted by the floods and sheltered in the college relief camp. Their two-day initiative reflected the core values of the National Cadet Corps — commitment, discipline, service and social responsibility.
On day 1 of this initiative cadets engage the children in informal classes, helping them to continue their learning despite the challenging circumstances. Alongside academic support, the cadets also conducted basic physical training activities to boost the morale and energy levels of the children. The day concluded with the distribution of cakes, muffins, and chocolates, bringing smiles to the young faces.

Day 2 of the initiative focused on life-saving skills and survival techniques. Cadets demonstrated simple, yet effective methods of water filtration using household items — an essential knowledge in post-flood conditions. They also demonstrated how to make life jackets using plastic bottles during emergency situation, empowering them with vital survival skills.
The initiative was carried out under the leadership of Dr. Joyobrato Nath and Ankita Ghosh, Caretaker Officer, both of whom closely supervised the cadets’ efforts and briefed them on their responsibilities.
The NCC unit extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sudip Kumar Das, Head of the Department of Bengali, Cachar College and Sanjana Singh, an ex-NCC cadet, who joined the team at the relief camp and brought along Chocolates, muffins and cakes for distribution.
This outreach program stands as a testament to the spirit of the NCC — nurturing youth who remain committed to serving society, no matter where life takes them.
