With 111 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 342 on 18 May, 6 deaths at SMCH
Active cases 1,586 in Cachar
May 18: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Tuesday at 11.15 PM. As per the latest data, 111 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 342 persons were found positive in the district on 18 May. Earlier, at 6.00 PM, it was informed that 231 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1,586. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Monday was 453.
As per the updated data, a total of 3,789 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 218 persons were found positive, whereas 124 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Tuesday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 5,082 in 2021, whereas during the year, 3,458 patients were discharged.
Apart from this, Suman Choudhury informed that out of the 1,586 active patients:
- 223 of them are admitted at SMCH
- 09 in MH
- 23 at SMDCH
- 33 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
- 38 at CRPF Doyapur
- 17 at Gracewell Nursing Home
- 16 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
- 24 at Valley Hospital
- 06 at South City Hospital
- 02 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
- 1,195 patients are in home isolation.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 06 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 06 deceased at SMCH during the last 24 hours, 04 are from Cachar district and 02 are from Hailakandi.
The deceased were identified as: Sandhya Goud (51) from Paloirbasti in Cachar, Ronobijoy Bin (65) from from Choto Dudhpatil in Cachar district, Parimal Choudhury (62) from Rangirkhari, Silchar, Islam Uddin Laskar (74) from Hailakandi district, Khounish Ranjan Bhattacharjee (76) from Tarapur, Silchar and Nur Khatun Choudhury (62) from Uttar Joushnabad in Hailakandi district.
