Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat increasing by 25 cm per hour on Wednesday afternoon

June 15: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak has again started to rise. On Wednesday afternoon, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was gradually increasing. From 1 AM on Wednesday, the water level of Barak increased from 15.80 cm to 16.83 cm at 2 PM.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 2 PM on Wednesday, was flowing below the danger level and was recorded at 16.83 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is increasing at 25 cm per hour.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
