Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi arrives in Silchar, offers prayer at Kachakanti temple & goes to Hailakandi
April 15: Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi arrived in Silchar on Friday morning. At the Airport, the Union Minister was accorded a warm reception by MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, MLA Mihir Kanti Shome, BJP district President Bimalendu Roy among others.
While on the way, Meenakshi Lekhi went to the Kachakanti Temple at Udharbond and offered puja there. Later on, taking to her twitter handle, she wrote, “Sought the blessings of Goddess Kanchakanti, the beautiful incarnation of Maa Durga and Maa Kali, at the historical Sree Kanchakanti Mandir in Udharbond, Assam. Later held a fruitful public meeting with the dedicated Karyakartas & leaders of BJP.”
Visited Hailakandi, an #AspirationalDistrict perched in the heart of Barak Valley in Assam and interacted with the district officials and the local residents of the district.

Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi then accompanied by Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy went to Hailakandi. Expressing her views, the Minister said, “Visited Hailakandi, an Aspirational District perched in the heart of Barak Valley in Assam and interacted with the district officials and the local residents of the district. I was apprised of the ongoing developmental works in the district…. Underscored the importance of diversifying through Product Development & Product Innovation, centering bamboo which is widely accessible across the state.”
