HSLC exam by SEBA likely to be deferred till March 2021

Sept. 7: The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic followed by long months of lockdown has witnessed closure of educational institutions in the country since March 2020. The academic losses caused by COVID-19 pandemic has compelled the Boards, Councils, Universities to redefine their academic calendar and defer examinations for the forthcoming session.

As per reports, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) too is contemplating to defer the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations, 2021, which is usually held in the 1st part of February. If media reports are to be believed, then SEBA is mulling to defer the HSLC examinations in Assam till March 2021. However,no final decision in this regard was yet taken by SEBA.

Meanwhile, to lessen the burden on the students, SEBA has reduced the syllabus for board exams by 30 per cent for the coming academic year that is 2020-21. Further, online classes for these students are also going on.
