Tribal village in Odisha to Rashtrapati Bhavan, biopic on Murmo
way2barak, June 21: Aamir Khan Productions is backing a biographical documentary on the life and journey of President Droupadi Murmu. The film will trace her path from a small tribal village in Odisha to Rashtrapati Bhavan, highlighting her years of public service, personal tragedies and historic achievements.
President Murmu is the first tribal woman to hold India’s highest constitutional office. The documentary is directed by filmmaker and writer Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal, who earlier collaborated with Aamir Khan on the documentary anthology Rubaru Roshni.
Filming has already begun in Murmu’s native village in Odisha. The docu-film blends archival material, real-life locations, interviews and dramatised sequences featuring local theatre actors.
