Transformer near Silchar ISKCON temple caught fire, no casualties

July 4: On the day of Rath Yatra, the Ambicapatty area near ISKCON Temple usually remains crowded. People assemble in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the Rath of ISKCON. However, an untoward incident occured all of a sudden. At around 5.30 PM, a transformer at Chourangi Point near the ISKCON temple caught fire.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot. Police gheraoed the area. People from the nearby flats crowded there. However, fire brigades rushed to the spot very soon and was able to douse the fire. Though tension mounted in the area, but there were no loss of life and property.
