Over 500 students from Al Hira School participated in the ‘Yoga chetana mohotsav’ of Niramaya

Way2barak, May 3 : The ‘yoga chetana mohotsav’ held at Al Hira National Senior Secondary School, Badarpur (Sribhumi) organised by Niramaya (Yoga Shiksh Sansthan), Silchar. The event, conducted on Saturday at the school campus, witnessed participation from over 500 students along with their teachers in yoga practice sessions.

The school’s Secretary, Selim Ahmed, elaborated on the significance of the event. He emphasized that in today’s globalized world, incorporating yoga into daily life is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind. He noted that even physically fit individuals have taken extreme steps like suicide, including energetic youths, because they are mentally disturbed despite good physical health. Yoga, he stated, can guide individuals towards the right path by helping maintain mental balance in any situation. Regular yoga practice strengthens both body and mind, making one ready to face life’s challenges. He also mentioned that yoga is a powerful tool for consciousness development and lauded Niramaya’s initiative, expressing hope that students would greatly benefit from such efforts.

The chief guest of the event was Shatakshi Bhattacharjee, the Zonal Coordinator for Northeast India of the Indian Yoga Association and Director of Niramaya. She shed light on the theme of this year’s International Yoga Day, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” She encouraged everyone to make yoga a daily companion for a stress-free and joyful life. Shatakshi also guided participants through basic meditation techniques.

Yoga sessions were conducted by Niramaya’s Master Trainer and Legacy Person, who highlighted the importance of the yoga festival. Ratul Chakraborty and Subhankar Saha assisted in the sessions.

The event was attended by the President of the School Management Committee Sabbir Ahmed, along with Monsur Alam, Juber Ahmed, the school principal, and other dignitaries. The day’s yoga program concluded with a collective prayer.

As a token of appreciation for promoting yoga education, Niramaya presented a memento to the Al Hira School authorities. On behalf of the school, a feedback letter was handed over to Niramay and received by Director Shatakshi Bhattacharjee. The inaugural session was conducted by Suryatapa Ghosh. It is worth mentioning that the Yoga chetana Mohotsav, which began on March 8 with the goal of hosting over a hundred programs, is part of the lead-up to the 11th International Yoga Day celebration and will continue until June 21.
