Tea gardens asked not to make payment to workers three days prior to polls

March 28: The election authorities here have asked the managers of tea gardens not to make any payment, including salaries and wages to the workers three days prior to the polls. In a letter to the tea garden managers in Hailakandi district on Sunday, District Development Commissioner cum Officer In-charge of MCC and EEM Cell, Ranajeet Kumar Laskar directed them not to make payment, including salaries and wages to the workers and daily wage earners during the last three days before the end of poll and repoll, if any.
