Sweet shop raided at Sonai Bazar for being unhygienic & without FSSAI license

April 27: On Wednesday, Circle Officer, Sonai and officials of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Cachar have raided a sweet shop “Sri Vishnu Sweets” and its factory at Sonai Bazar and closed the shop based on complaints of local people. Officials reported that the environment in which the sweets are being prepared was very unhygienic. Moreover, the shop was running without FSSAI license and trade license. As such, the official team ordered the shop to be closed immediately.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is a statutory body established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, which is a consolidating statute related to food safety and regulation in India.
