Suspension of opposition MPs can be revoked if they apologise: Parliamentary Affairs Minister
July 27: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said the suspension of 24 Opposition MPs can be revoked if they apologise and assure that they won’t bring placards in the House. As many as 20 MPs have been suspended from Rajya Sabha and four from Lok Sabha for creating a ruckus in Parliament. The 20 Rajya Sabha MPs have started a 50-hour-long protest in the Parliament premises.
Suspended TMC MP Sushmita Dev during participation in the protest movement said, “We Demanded a discussion on the imposition of GST on basic food and soaring prices was denied repeatedly. The parliament must reflect the issues that impact common people. To protest price rise is our right. Opposition cannot be denied their right to debate.”
