Sushmita Dev alleges BJP-AGP Govt. to be a circus party
December 2: Silchar MP Sushmita Dev who is also the President of All India Mahila Congress attacked in sharp language the present ruling dispensation in the state. Miss Dev stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government and its ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is busy staging one drama after another and so referred to both of them as a circus party. She was addressing a poll campaign at Boko, Malibari for Nagarbera Zila Parishad Congress candidate, Himadri Pathak.
She further accused both these two parties to be-fool the public by taking opposite stand on the Citizenship Bill whereas in reality both BJP and AGP are very good friends. She also accused that the rising unemployment in the state is the reason why educated youth are joining rebel outfits. Miss Dev said that the growing unemployment is due to the faulty policies of the government.
Sushmita Dev also came in heavily against State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who recently said that Congress is turning into old Rs 500 currency note. Taking a dig at Himanta, Miss Dev said that infact he himself is like a currency note which keeps on changing colours. She said, “Initially, it was the colour of the tiranga, then it changed into gerua and now only God knows which colour he will adopt in near future.”
