Stage set for N Biren Singh to become CM of Manipur for 2nd consecutive time

March 20: In the recently concluded elections assembly election in Manipur, the BJP got an absolute majority with 32 seats of 60 member assembly while National People’s Party (NPP), a coalition partner of the BJP in the previous government, became the second largest party with 7 seats. However, since then, speculations were ripe in the state as regards the post of Chief Minister.

Finally, N Biren Singh was unanimously elected as the new CM of Manipur in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislature party meeting held on Sunday.
