Silchar Congress protests near SP office as against Assam Police SI exam paper leak

Oct. 6: As per direction of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), a gherao programme of the office of the Superintendent of Police, Cachar was organised by Silchar District Congress Committee (DCC) on Tuesday. The gherao programme was organised as a mark of protest against the recent question paper leak scandal of police department Sub Inspector (SI) exam.

A large number of office bearers of Silchar DCC, Block Congress office bearers, members of frontal wings, cells and departments of the party were present during the demonstration near the SP Office, Silchar. Slogans were raised against the BJP led state government and Assam Police. Demand of CBI enquiry was also made during the protest movement. However, the police put up barricades in front of the SP office and refrained anyone to move inside the office.
