Silchar becomes 2nd airport in NE to host B737-MAX8 craft

Dec. 24: It’s indeed a red letter day in the aviation history of Silchar Airport. On Friday, Silchar became the second airport in North East after Guwahati to host the B737-MAX8 craft. This SpiceJet aircraft with 189 plus seats is a latest Boeing for domestic services with CFM engines.

SpiceJet, the only operator of the 737 MAX in the country, had signed a $22 billion deal with Boeing for up to 205 aircraft in 2017 and has 13 of these planes in its fleet at present. The airline will be deploying these aircraft on both domestic as well as international routes.
