Several new Containment Zones declared in many parts of Cachar on Saturday

May 22: In view of detection of many COVID-19 patients, District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli declared containment zones in certain parts of Cachar.  As per new Covid guidelines issued by the Government of Assam, micro containment zones are to be declared in areas which has a positivity rate of more than 5 percent.

It is in this connection that Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Cachar in 4 separate notifications issued on 21 & 22 May, 2021 stated that Covid-19 positive cases has reached more than 5% positivity rate in the last one week at certain parts. As such, to contain the further spread of the virus, the geographical area mentioned below was declared as a containment zone and which was immediately sealed.

Proposed containment zone boundary:

  • North: Main Road
  • South: Fishery
  • East: House of Molciya Mala
  • West: House of Kalachand Bhar

Kumar Para under Dholai BHPC at Sonai Revenue Circle

Proposed containment zone boundary:

  • North: Harina Purba Mahadeb Bari
  • South: Kangla Road (small lane)
  • East: Harina Boro Akhra
  • West: Harina Amraghat Road

Kumar Para under Dholai BHPC at Sonai Revenue Circle

Proposed containment zone boundary:

  • North: Ramjanaki Road
  • South: Paddy field of Sugandh Kumar
  • East: Harina Amraghat Road
  • West: Paddy field of Gobinda Goala

Khulicherra under Sonai Revenue Circle

Proposed containment zone boundary:

  • North: House of Khalil Uddin Mazumder
  • South: House of Sukur Ali Mazumder
  • East: M.E. School
  • West: House of Nurul Haque

To implement the above instructions, following restrictions were also imposed in the geographical area mentioned above:

  1. Clear entry and exit points are to be established.
  2. No unauthorised entry and exit of the residents in the contained area will be allowed.
  3. Vehicular movement is to be strictly prohibited.
  4. No movement is to be allowed except for medical emergencies, essential goods and services.
  5. No unchecked influx of population is to be allowed
  6. People transiting are to be recorded and followed through IDSP.
  7. Stricter enforcement of all statutory directions regarding social distancing.

District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli stated that the orders are issued as per Govt Order vide Memo No. ASDMA.25/ 2021/ 63 on 4 May, 2021.
