May 9: A very vital question often asked by many has also taken the social media by a storm. The question is: “When can I get my 2nd dose of vaccine if I get infected after the 1st does? In its reply, the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) said that if a person contracts Covid-19 after getting the first dose of Coronavirus vaccine, they should defer the second dose by four to eight weeks after recovery.
This 4 to 8 weeks deferred period of 2nd dose is applicable for people having active symptoms of coronavirus, patients who have been given plasma or anti- Covid-19 monoclonal anti-bodies and acutely ill patients due to any other illness.
