RAT testing centre to come up at SM Dev Civil Hospital for ILI, SARI cases
August 18: In view of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation and instances of patients flocking to SM Dev Civil Hospital with symptoms of Lnfluenza Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI), the health authorities have decided to treat each and every case with such symptoms under the Rapid Antigen Test.
An order issued to this effect from the Office of Joint Director of Health Services, Cachar here on Tuesday, stated that the Superintendent of SM Dev Civil Hospital will set up a 24×7 RAT testing centre at the hospital campus for testing patients afflicted with ILI and SARI. It further stated that the laboratory technicians posted in the civil hospital will be on duty on a 24×7 roster basis to deal with such cases.
Opthalmic Assistant, Mrinal Kanti Laskar has been nominated as coordinator for the testing centre. Laskar will also be responsible for maintenance of documentation and daily reporting.
Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert further informed that due to some unavoidable circumstances, Covid test in Urban PHC will not be held until further notice. However, people intending to go for test can visit ISBT.
