  • 7 March, 2006: Bomb blast in Varanasi happened on this day. These blasts happened in the Sankat Mochan Temple and on Varanasi Cantt railway station. The blasts left 28 people dead in their wake and the terrorist group lashkar e Taiba had taken the responsibility for them.
  • 7 March, 2017: Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee, an Indian folk singer and researcher died on this day. He was born and raised in Silchar, Assam. He formed the famous band ‘Dohar’. He died in a street accident in West Bengal.
