Public HS School Silchar still submerged in flood water
May 23: Although River Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar is now flowing much below the danger level, yet it seems to be no respite for the people of the town. Flood water is gradually entering many new parts of the town. Also, in those areas, where flood water entered 2 to three days ago, the water level is either stagnant or rising. A similar sight was noticed in Public HS School, Silchar.
The school was flooded on Saturday. Since then, the water has not receded. Meanwhile, on Saturday, the school authorities somehow came and took out important documents from the office, Principal’s room as the water inside the rooms were almost knee-level. On Tuesday too, the water inside the school was stagnant. The entire area of Public School Road barring a few lanes were water logged.
Infact, Rangirkhal, which flows behind the school is overflowing. As such, it seems that, the accumulated water inside the school and on the adjoining street will take some more time to recede.
