থানায় হাজিরা দেননি ‘অসুস্থ’ সিদ্ধার্থশংকর
Principal Cachar College “sick”, did not appear at police station

ওয়েটুবরাক, ২৫ আগস্ট : রবিবার রাতে জামিন দিতে গিয়েই কাছাড় কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ ড. সিদ্ধার্থশংকর নাথকে পুলিশ ২৫ আগস্ট বৃহস্পতিবার মালুগ্রাম ফাঁড়িতে হাজিরা দিতে বলেছিল৷ সব শর্ত মেনে চলার মুচলেকা দিয়ে সে রাতে জামিন নিলেও আজ বৃহস্পতিবার তিনি মালুগ্রাম ফাঁড়িতে উপস্থিত হতে পারেননি৷ তাঁর আইনজীবী শান্তনু নায়েক পুলিশকে জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন, ডাক্তারের পরামর্শে সিদ্ধার্থশংকর নাথ বর্তমানে সাতদিনের ‘বেড রেস্টে’ রয়েছেন৷ তিনি অবশ্য বুধবার কলেজ থেকেও দশদিনের ছুটি নিয়েছেন৷

way2barak, Aug.25: Principal of Cachar College, Siddhartha Shankar Nath was arrested on 21 August on the basis of an FIR filed by DC Cachar on allegation of dereliction of duty during the SLRC Grade IV Exam. He was, however, released on bail at late night on the condition of appearing before the investigation officer at Malugram Police Out Post on 25 August. It was clearly stated in the bail bond that “Failure to attend/ comply with the terms of this notice can render you liable for arrest u/s 41(A) (3) and (4) CrPC.”

However, inspite of signing the bond and agreeing to abide by it, Sidhhartha Shankar Nath did not appear at the Police Station. His advocate Santanu Nayek informed the police that as per the advice of the doctor, his client is on bed rest for 7 days. Siddhartha Nath, meanwhile, has taken leave from the college for 10 days.
